The Ford Center has three vacation rental houses available year round. “Sassafras House” (featured here) is located along US 41 in Alberta, MI, which is in the heart of the Western Upper Peninsula. The Ford Center makes a convenient base for day trips to Marquette, Copper Harbor and the Porcupine Mountains. It also sits next to snowmobile trail #8, so no need to trailer sleds.
Sassafras has a fully equipped kitchen. All linens, blankets and towels provided and all beds are twin-sized. Sassafras House has one bathroom and four bedrooms that sleep up to eight. There is a full basement with a washer/dryer. The house does not have a phone, but it does have Wi-Fi and a television with a BluRay-DVD player. There is no satellite service in the house, but it is available in the recreation hall.
Guests can use the basketball, volleyball and tennis courts. Guests also get free admission to the Henry Ford Historic Sawmill Museum. Pets allowed. Meal service is available for groups of 20 or more. Reservations for lodging or meals required in advance. Parking available for trailers.
Check out the Ford Center’s Facebook page (Ford Center Conference Center) for more details and photos - Sassafras House is $75/night or $300/week for up to eight people (taxes not included).
The Ford Center is owned and operated by Michigan Technological University. The facility is tobacco free.
