Insel Haus, our Island Bed and Breakfast, offers luxury and comfort inside, wilderness and adventure outside. No other home can be seen from secluded Insel Haus and it's 200 acres of forest. Pictures alone can't capture its unique character, many antiques, 3000 volume library, fire places, and unusual bedrooms. But our web site does offer an array of photos, general information and prices. Here in Michigan's Upper Peninsula you'll be entering a veritable time machine far off the beaten path where there are no paved roads or traffic lights. Explore this twelve by six mile jewel as you hike, bike or drive its roads and two-track trails. There's one combined general store and restaurant and if you seek local color there is a tavern. A twenty-five mile an hour speed limit is enforced throughout Bois Blanc. Insel Haus accommodates twenty guests. We have retreats, family reunions, and weddings as well as individual visitors. Insel Haus also has suites which include your own kitchen. You may send us a shopping list and the food will be in your suite when you arrive. We serve the obligatory breakfast and gourmet lunch and dinner meals can be arranged. Getting to Insel Haus (German for "Island House") is part of the adventure. We are open all year. Guests arrive by ferry, plane, and helicopter. Ferry from Cheboygan. Two airlines provide service from Cheboygan, St. Ignace and Pellston.
