Established over 35 years ago, Materials Unlimited is one of the nation’s oldest architectural salvage companies. The owner, Reynold Lowe, started doing salvage jobs back in 1972 and by 1974 he began selling salvaged building materials under the business name Materials Unlimited, and the store was born. The 15,000 square foot showroom is brimming with antiques, restored fireplace mantels, leaded glass doors, stained & beveled glass windows, salvaged hardware, and other architectural items. We are especially known for our collection of restored period lighting. Our experienced Architectural Design Consultants are available to help customers with every project. Regardless of the style or size of your house, Materials Unlimited has the perfect items to help complete the design of your home, whether it is old or new. Materials Unlimited is located in historic downtown Ypsilanti at 2 West Michigan Avenue. Our three-story showroom is open Tuesday to Saturday 10am to 5pm, Sunday 12pm to 5pm and closed Mondays.
