The only museum in the state dedicated to women’s history, the Michigan Women’s Historical Center features a Hall of Fame with over 260 Michigan women honorees, changing special exhibits, the Belen Gallery displaying Michigan women artists, and a gift shop with many unique items such as Suffragist Preserves and Sassy Women’s Salsa. Open Wed.–Sat. noon–4 pm, Sun. 2–4 pm. Closed holidays. Admission: Adults $2.50, students $1, seniors $2. Call for group tours. The center is located next to Cooley Gardens, an outstanding botanical garden.
