Saugatuck Harbor Natural Area

The Saugatuck Harbor Natural Area is a 173-acre tract of magnificent duneland along the Lake Michigan shore owned by the City of Saugatuck. The land is home to several species of rare plants, birds and animals, and demonstrates the unique geological and ecological features of Great Lakes dunes. The Natural Area is open year round. Guided walks are held every Saturday morning at 10 am from May 25, 2013 to Sept 14, 2013. Meet at the north end of Oval Beach parking lot 690 Perryman Street, Saugatuck. The walks are free but parking costs $6 from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day weekend. Special event --- Sun Sept 8, 2:00 pm: Exploring the Saugatuck Harbor Natural Area. A full trail walk with leader April Scholtz of the Land Conservancy of West Michigan.
