Enjoy the beauty of nature at the John and Mary Dahlem Environmental Education Center. Colorful gardens, luscious forests, green prairies, rolling meadows, marshes, and ponds dapple over 300 acres and highlight Michigan's changing seasons. With five miles of hiking trails, including a half-mile special needs trail and year-round educational programs. Our mission is to bridge the gap from the human to the natural environment. We function as an outdoor laboratory for school field trips, workshops and public programs. Dahlem rentals include Pavilion (maximum capacity 100). The Pavilion area, located near the visitor center, is surrounded by the green of nature and directly off the Dahlem trail system. Tables, chairs, water and electricity are accessible. This makes the area an ideal location for picnics and family gatherings. Dutcher large class room (Maximum capacity 80). This large air conditioned room offers wifi, audio visual equipment and sound. Tables and chairs are available for this space. Green Space – 200 people. This outdoor area adjacent of the classrooms offers a green space that allows for tents and other outdoor setup. This location also has access to the Nature Playscape. Fees for rental is $150/ for one to four hours, $270/ for five to eight hours. After hours add $50 per hour, after hours (5:00 pm until 10:00 pm) fee is a per hour fee, in addition to the rental charge, for every hour past 6:00 pm.
