Van Buren Park

In 1973, Detroit Edison offered the park to the residents of Van Buren Township, along with Belleville Lake and French Landing Dam. Van Buren Township purchased 101 acres of Van Buren Park, 1,220 acres of Belleville Lake and 6 acres of French Landing Dam for one dollar. Although the park has changed over the years it still has maintained the secluded peaceful atmosphere that make it so popular for our families today. Basketballs and Volleyballs are available at the gatehouse for use on a first-come, first serve basis. ID is required for all equipment on loan from Van Buren Park. Van Buren Township Park offers a nice beach and swimming. Special events include Day Camp in the Park, Haunted Forest and Concerts. Enjoy viewing the fall colors while strolling down a nature trail or standing on the observation deck. Come to the park after a fresh snowfall to cross country ski. Open seven days a week, all year.
