Vermilion Nature Preserve

175 acres. Frontage: 9,240 feet on Lake Superior. This preserve contains a wide sandy beach, low shore dunes, upland forest, old cranberry-bog wetlands and a stream. Known habitat for the federally endangered piping plover. No established trails but a dirt road leads to a parking area with easy access to the beach. Enter the preserve from Vermilion Road.
