Byron Township Community Center, located within Whistlestop Park.
Whistlestop Park is the largest park managed by the Byron Township Recreation Department. With four softball fields, four baseball fields, three football/soccer fields, a 2.5 acre fishing pond, a playground, walking trail, covered pavilion and picnic area for 100, and volleyball courts, this 59 acre park is the hub of recreation in Byron Township. In addition to the outdoor facilities, Whistlestop Park is also home to the Byron Township Community Center which opened in April of 2009. The Center is home to the Byron Township Recreation Department. The facility includes a full gymnasium with Basketball/Volleyball courts, billiards tables, a walking track, cardio and weight equipment, meeting rooms, kitchen and comfortable sitting areas. Open for daily use. The Center is available for rental. It is perfect for a small meeting or a large event.
