If you're not sure where to start, try Recreation 101, a series of free introductory classes taught by Department of Natural Resources staff or expert volunteers.These programs are a great way to learn a new outdoor activity, with all the gear, guides and good times included!
All you need to experience all this is the Recreational Passport, which residents can get by checking "YES" at the Secretary of State (SOS) during license plate renewal. The Recreation Passport not only gains your vehicle access to all state parks, hundreds of miles of trails, state forest campgrounds and boat launches, but when you buy it through the SOS, you'll also gain access to Passport Perks.
