For more than 56 years artists with amazing talents and unsurpassed skills have come to the streets of downtown Ann Arbor to exhibit at the Ann Arbor Street Art Fair. Artists will display their latest work for more than 500,000 annual fairgoers from July 15 - 18, 2015. The varied parts of the fair form a kaleidoscope of sound and color that will energize and captivate your imagination.
The Ann Arbor Art Fair is a collective of four award-winning art fairs: The Ann Arbor Street Art Fair (the original), the Ann Arbor Summer Art Fair, the State Street Area Art Fair and Ann Arbor’s South University Art Fair. In 2004, the Ann Arbor Street Art Fair was named the number one art fair in the country by AmericanStyle magazine readers and has made the Top Ten Fairs and Festivals list every year since.
Exhibits from more than 1,000 artists feature a wide range of mediums, including glass, clay, wood, painting, photography, fibers, metal and more. A trolley will be available to help visitors navigate the event, which covers approximately ten blocks. Tickets are only $1 a day, and kids age 5 and younger ride free.
In addition to art exhibits, the fair also features music performances on three entertainment stages and Art Activity Zones, which are family-oriented stops offering special projects designed to engage and challenge even the youngest of fairgoers. Artists will also be providing public demonstrations throughout the four day event. More than 150 restaurants, four food courts and distinctive shops and galleries add to the festivities with tempting sidewalk sales and outdoor dining.
Fairgoers can also explore the remarkable city of Ann Arbor with its eclectic shops, world-class restaurants and fascinating people watching that rivals any metro area. Rent a canoe at the Gallup Park Canoe Livery & Coffee Shop and paddle along the Huron River to Argo Park or explore the amazing Matthaei Botanical Gardens. Afterward stop for a pint at either Grizzly Peak Brewing Company or Arbor Brewing.
