Michigan Fishing

Michigan fishing is all about our passion for fresh air, biting fish and enjoying a few good laughs with our friends. Home to some of the country's feistiest trout, walleye, and salmon, fishing Michigan's waters is sure to leave you with a catch to brag about. With four Great Lakes, 11,000 inland lakes and hundreds of rivers and streams, there's no end to the places to cast your line during your Pure Michigan fishing experience. With trout, walleyes, salmon, perch, bass ready to bite, Michigan is home to the best catches a fishing trip can offer.  Read about five favorite fly-fishing spots in Michigan.

Two days twice a year, families and friends can enjoy one of Michigan's premiere outdoor activities, Michigan Fishing, for FREE!  All fishing license fees will be waived for two days. Residents and outstate visitors may enjoy fishing on both inland and Great Lakes' waters for all species of fish. All fishing regulations will still apply. Dates for 2012 are Winter: February 18 and 19 and Summer: June 9 and 10, 2012. For many, the annual Free Fishing Weekend has become a tradition - a time to get together and have some fishing fun. While some may find time to reflect while fishing, there are no limits to variations on a great theme!
