IMPORTANT FOR TRAVELERS: REAL ID Enforcement Deadline May 7, 2025

Beginning May 7, 2025, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security will officially begin enforcing the REAL ID Act of 2015 in airports. All Americans will be required to present REAL ID-compliant identification at airport security in order to travel by airplane in the United States.

This airport serves as a gateway to 24 major market destinations. Enjoy Lake Michigan, dozens of wineries, and the Sleeping Bear Dunes by booking a flight to Cherry Capitol Airport (TVC) in Traverse City. Most uniquely, flights to Mackinac Island will help travelers avoid long drives, and ferry rides into Michigan’s motor-less island. 

If you are flying to University of Michigan, Detroit Willow Run Airport (YIP) is located less than 10 miles east of the Wolverines.
