Women have always been central to historical change. They have shaped ideas, constructed movements, leveraged their social capital, led where others have followed, and dreamed visions others never dared.
Women are not monolithic. Many women have pushed for progressive ideas and visionary change, and just as many women have vocally fought to pass on traditions and maintain established norms. Women grow, change, reclaim, disclaim, and represent their multi-faceted perspectives. All are part of our collective history.
Whether facing crises or opportunities, women have risen to the challenges. Even when they have been excluded, silenced, and ignored, we can see clearly that women always were – and still are – central to our human story.
