AG Venture Day

City of Harbor Beach
766 State Street,
Harbor Beach, MI 48441
Summer in Michigan isn’t without sharing the roads with farm and agriculture equipment or driving through the countryside and seeing all types of tractors and equipment in farm fields. Being surrounded by agriculture, the City of Harbor Beach embraces the importance of the agriculture industry to the prosperity of its community by hosting “AG Venture Day,” for the third year, filled with farm related activities for adults and children. On Saturday, August 11, 2018, the downtown streets of Harbor Beach will be closed, and all types of agriculture and farm equipment will fill the streets for the public to experience up close. Many local farmers and agribusinesses are donating their equipment and time for this event to ensure those in attendance are able to gain an understanding of how the various pieces of equipment operate, and everything it takes to provide a safe and affordable food source. The day begins with the Farm Fit Challenge at Lincoln Memorial Park at 9 am. The rest of the day continues downtown at 10 am with live music by Alan Turner and the Steel Horse Band, lots of games and inflatables for the kids, and farm tours. Buses leave on the hour for the local farm tours. All activities are FREE thanks to our sponsors. Event Chairperson and local farmer, Darrin Siemen, explained, “The goal of AG Venture Day is to give consumers an up close encounter with modern farming technology.”
