Port Crescent State Park - Meteors and S'mores

Join the park was we partnering with the Delta Planetarium for a night of dark sky viewing during the Perseid Meteor Shower. This event will take place in the Dark Sky viewing area located in Lot D of the Day Use Unit of the park, where planetarium and park staff will be available with telescopes to aid with viewing and to provide information. Visitors are invited to come and enjoy the guided night sky viewing, and of course S'mores! This event is open to everyone. The main event will take place on Friday, Aug. 14, with Saturday Aug. 15 as a back up in case of poor weather conditions. If both days have weather conditions that are poor for viewing, there will be a Star Presentation given by a Delta Planetarium Astronomer at the Day Use Pavilion. Sunset is around 8:40 p.m., visitors are welcome to stay as long as they like for viewing. For more information, please call the park.
