Inspired by the life of one of history's most remarkable literary voices, The Sins of Sor Juana tells the story of Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz, a brilliant 17th century scholar, poet, and nun whose pursuit of knowledge challenged the limits placed on women in colonial Mexico. As her intellect and growing influence draw the attention of powerful religious and political figures, Sor Juana must choose between remaining true to her convictions or yielding to the forces determined to silence her.
