Wurtsmith Air Museum -Three Hangars of History

The museum is located in three hangars, Cell #1, #2, and #3, where jet fighters were once housed. It is open on weekends from mid-May to late-Sept; Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, from 11 AM - 3 PM each day. There is an admission charge of $5 for adults, $3 for children under 12 yrs. Children under 5 and active military are admitted free of charge. The museum has new LED lighting , new displays, and a well-stocked gift shop. There is a "Wurtsmith Room" filled with donated pictures and memorabilia from Wurtsmith Air Force Base history. There are some aircraft on display, T-33s, a Huey helicopter, a Link Trainer, an L-19 in the process of being restored, and miscellaneous small planes. There will be a WWII Encampment on the museum grounds with special displays and participants in uniform. There is no admission fee for this area. Wurtsmith Air Museum is an all-volunteer, non-profit 501c3 organization dedicated to preserving the history of Wurtsmith Air Force Base and aviation in NE Michigan. The museum is handicapped accessible.
