In What We Notice: Living in Art, Ashley Menth and Tzu Poré explore the ways attention shapes both creative practice and daily life. Though their work emerges from distinct experiences and visual languages, both artists are guided by a deep engagement with the world around them.
Ashley Menth’s paintings and prints are generated from observation with an intention of optimism. She is adept at transforming everyday moments, places, and relationships into images that celebrate connection, memory, and community.
Tzu Poré’s mixed-media works draw inspiration from food sovereignty, off-grid homesteading, and a life closely connected to the land. Through layered surfaces and abstract forms, his work reflects cultivation, resilience, and the cycles that sustain both people and place.
Together, the exhibition considers what feeds us—not only food, but also art, friendship, curiosity, beauty, and shared experience. It asks viewers to reflect on the people, places, and practices that sustain their own lives and invites a renewed appreciation for the richness found in ordinary moments.
What We Notice: Living in Art celebrates the act of paying attention as both an artistic practice and a way of living.
