Baskets of apples at a farmer's market

Taste fresh coast flavors

Michigan's Farmers Markets

Michigan is home to thousands of farms, orchards and vineyards and one of the best places to experience this bounty is at a local farm market

As one of the most agriculturally diverse states in the nation, Michigan is a leader in producing everything from apples, tart cherries and blueberries to asparagus and cucumbers. Local restaurants feature these flavors in dishes, but a farmers market is the perfect way to sample what is locally fresh and in season, and grab some grown and made-in-Michigan snacks for the road.

Communities all across Michigan host farmers markets throughout the year, but places like Eastern Market in Detroit, with more than 250 independent vendors and merchants processing, wholesaling and retailing food, and the Flint Farmers Market, both open all year, are destinations in their own right. Spread the jam, taste the wine, live and eat well. Life just plain tastes better when it’s Pure Michigan.
