Make Summer Campground Reservations Early

RV Camping in Summer - Courtesy of MARVACTired of winters ice, snow and frigid temperatures? Its not too early to think about summer camping! Campfires and marshmallows, hiking and fishing, warm and sunny leisure days, outdoor adventure and quality family getaways are just a few months away. So, dont wait til the last minute to reserve your campsite.

Making reservations early can ensure that your favorite campground will have a site available for you. Follow these tips to get a great spot at your favorite state or private campground:

  • Check with the campground to find out how far in advance you can reserve a campsite, and book as soon as possible.
  • Be aware that holiday weekends such as Memorial Day, July 4th and Labor Day are the season's most popular times for camping, thus making it harder to get a camping site.
  • Try to arrive on a weekday, that way a week-long reservation allows you to take advantage of staying throughout the weekend.
  • Check the campground for openings daily. If your favorite campsite or campground is bookeda cancellation may be your opportunity to get in on short notice.

Find new campgrounds, and get a great deal on a new RV at a MARVAC Camper & RV Show! Shows are coming in March to Flint (March 13-16) and Traverse City (March 21-23). For show details and discount coupons, visit Michigan Association of Recreation Vehicles and Campgrounds (MARVAC).
