Grassfields Cheese

14238 60th Ave.,
Coopersville, MI 49404
Our family owned and operated farm has been in the family since the early 1920s. In 1992 we switched from confinement dairying to intensive rotational grazing. We enjoy watching our happy animals munching on the grass all summer long and enjoying the outdoors, even in snow! Shelter is available if they need, but they prefer to be outside. In 2002, we started making raw-milk cheese (we were the first place in Michigan licensed to make and sell raw milk cheese), and now offer ten different varieties of cheese, along with (steroid-, hormone-, and antibiotic-free pastured poultry, eggs, beef, pork and lamb.) The meats are available in our on-farm store. If you have never seen the Grassfields Cheese farm operation, this maybe just for you. Each month we will be having a tour for anyone to attend. You will get to see how cheese is made, taste our cheeses, see our milking facility and take a wagon ride tour of the pastures where our animals live. The cost is $3 per person, and children under 2 are free. Tours by request are also available May 1st through October 31st (call to set up a specially organized tour for your group, pricing varies depending on what you want to see at the farm.)
