Kal-Haven Trail State Park
The trail has been recognized as a Pure Michigan Trail and designated as a heritage trail. The City of South Haven has also been designated as a Pure Michigan Designated Trail Town.
The Kal-Haven Heritage Trail project includes 31 exhibit panels that explore the natural and cultural history of the area. Using geo-locations, an accessible mobile app will alert users about nearby heritage sites. Get the app on Google Play or through a web browser at IWR.MSU.edu/KWT.
The two main trailheads are located at either end of the trail in Kalamazoo and South Haven. There are several other access points along the trail, including Bloomingdale and Grand Junction.
Before visiting a state park, boating site or trail, it’s always a good idea to check the latest closures due to weather-related events, planned improvement projects and repairs. Visit Michigan.gov/DNRClosures.
