Pillar Church and Heritage Center

57 East 10th Street,
Holland, MI 49423
Founded by the Reverend Albertus VanRaalte, Pillar Church was dedicated in 1856. This Greek Revival building is listed on the National Historic Register and is one of the few buildings to have survived the devastating fire of 1871 in Holland. Holland's founder, Reverend VanRaalte, led a group of immigrants from the Netherlands arriving in Holland in 1847. The group's original "Peoples Church" met in a small log chapel until Pillar Church was opened. Tours of the church and the Heritage Room - a display of the church's historic documents and artifacts are available to groups by prior arrangement. Pillar Church hosts free mini-organ concerts throughout the summer (June-August) each Wednesday at 12:15 pm. Guests are encouraged to take time to enjoy a variety of organists for these 30 minute casual performances. Come when you can, leave when you must.
