Rock Ridge Camp

Rim of Rock Canyon, Hiawatha National Forest,
Au Train, MI 49806
Access to Rock Ridge Camp is by snowmobile only in winter, FWD or ATV when it is wet and 2wd drive when the roads are dry. There are about two miles of rustic woods trails off one mile of unplowed county road. The Rock River runs through the corner of the 80-acre site and is a known trout stream that is only a 1/4 mile hike from the cabin. This "Rustic but Refined" camp has a bedroom area with a queen bed. The great room has a futon and a queen bed. (A cot is available.) Sleeping bags are suggested but bedding and towels are provided. Bathroom has a shower and hot water. The kitchen area has a 3-burner stovetop, microwave, and stovetop coffeepot. There are dishes for four, cookware, and utensils. We suggest bringing paper plates, napkins, picnic supplies, and drinking water. No refrigerator but a large cooler is provided. Additional coolers are suggested. Three decks offer an awesome views of the surrounding woods and the Rock River Canyon. There is a charcoal grill for cookouts and a fire pit for campfires. Firewood is provided for the woodstove. The cabin has solar power and a battery bank. A generator, with fuel included will provide power if the sun doesn't shine. Enjoy the 80 acres of private property and endless public lands. Pets welcome.
