Fly into the state by traveling into one of the many airports in Michigan. Afraid to fly? Chicago visitors can easily travel by taking the train to Michigan. Navigate from the airports and train stations by utilizing Michigan’s taxi and limo services that are readily available. Stay on the road throughout the duration of your visit, by traveling to the many bus stations in Michigan. Take your adventure even further, and climb aboard a Michigan ferry to one of the islands in the Great Lakes. Travel by air, land, or lake in the Mitten State!

The most common way to travel into Michigan is through the Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW) - Michigan’s largest airport. DTW is located in Romulus - a suburb of Detroit. Taxis and luxury sedans are available 24/7 from both terminals without advanced arrangements. Additionally, there are shuttle services available to help you travel throughout Southeast Michigan with ease.

If you are looking to visit the dueling University of Michigan or Michigan State University, there are several options. Both universities are easily accessible from DTW as the airport is located by two major highways, I-275 and I-94. However, there are airports located closer to each university. Flights to University of Michigan can be easily achieved through the Detroit Willow Run Airport, which is located less than 10 miles east of Ann Arbor. Capital Region International Airport is an option for those visiting MSU, as it is conveniently located in Lansing. Additionally, both Ann Arbor and Lansing host Amtrak and Greyhound stations. Whether you bleed Blue, or Green - there are many options when traveling to these Big 10 Universities.

Lastly, no Pure Michigan experience is truly complete without an excursion on a ferry. Explore the motor-less island of Mackinac, or have an outdoor adventure on Beaver Island!
