Independence Oaks County Park

Independence Oaks is a naturally-maintained 1,285-acre park with year-round recreation opportunities, including: picnicking, fishing, swimming, boat launch and rowboat, canoe and rentals. Ball field, sand volleyball courts, playground equipment and horseshoes pits are also available. The park also offers more than 14 miles of marked nature and ski trails and 2.5 miles of paved pathways. In the winter, enjoy cross-country skiing, ski rental, ice skating, ice fishing, warming shelters and food concession. The Wint Nature Center offers educational opportunities. Camp Wilderness is a youth group campground, featuring two group areas for 60-100 each with platform tents, heated bathhouse with showers and restrooms. Each area has water, electricity and a pavilion.
