Jordan River National Fish Hatchery

Hatchery Mission is to rear and stock lake trout as part of the Great Lakes Restoration Program. The NFH rears early life stage lake trout for transfer to other National Fish Hatcheries. The hatchery also provides catchable sized brook trout for local children’s fishing events. Staff conduct community outreach and environmental education promoting connecting people with nature initiatives. The hatchery rears, tags and stocks 1.85-2.0 million yearling lake trout, Rears 1.0 million fingerling lake trout for transfer to the Pendills Creek National Fish Hatchery. Public use opportunities include environmental and natural resource educational programs, snowmobile rest area, direct access to the North Country Trail and Jordan River Valley. Interpretive Hatchery Tours 7am-3:30pm seven days a week.
