Alpha is a small village that grew up during the iron mining era located in southern Iron County in the Upper Peninsula.  It is situated on a hill overlooking the Alpha Creek, with a "Circle" as the center of town, directly in front of the Porter School, Alpha Township Hall, water tower and the First National Bank building.
