East China Township is a rural area along the St. Clair River, with a population of about 3,650. We have three river parks, for fishing, ship watching, canoeing and picnicking. We also offer a neighborhood park and an 80-acre park with wooded nature paths and a paved bike path that meanders through woodland and natural areas as well as residential areas. Our Bridge to Bay trail is a connecting system planned to traverse St. Clair County from the Blue Water Bridge to Anchor Bay.
In the winter, we offer asledding hill, complete with snowmaking machine, ice rinks and paths for cross country skiing. For a historical visit back in time, visit our Red Brick Schoolhouse, built in 1872, open on Sundays throughout the summer. There are many antiquing opportunities, golfing, restaurants, and riverside lodging for overnight guests as well, in the neighboring communities of Marine City and the City of St. Clair.
