The City of St. Louis, the “Middle of the Mitten,” is a picturesque small town that is a convenient stopping place for travelers. St. Louis is a nice place to eat, play a round of golf, do a bit of downtown shopping or explore some interesting history.
The Geographic Center of the Lower Peninsula, St. Louis is located in Gratiot County right on M-46 and only two miles east of US-127 on its Business Route, so it is a convenient stop no matter which way you’re traveling.
Beautiful Clapp Park, right on M-46 near the traditional downtown, is a peaceful spot to have a picnic or just let the kids let off some steam. St. Louis offers a good selection of eating places whether you’re looking for coffee and a doughnut, Chinese food, a traditional sit down meal or a slice of pizza.
St. Louis’ Central Business District on North Mill Street was named to the National Register of Historic Places in 2014 and still has many of its historic architecture. Many of these historic buildings are home to unique retail businesses. Downtown St. Louis is certainly worth the stop!
