"Get ready for a whole new African adventure this summer in Battle Creek! Binder Park Zoo is now offering overnight stays in their African Tented Camp, where you wake up to the sounds of the African savanna. The zoo offers spectacular views of wild animals living in enclosures that mimic their real-world habitats as much as possible. Elevated boardwalks allow you to get nose-to-nose with one of the largest giraffe herds in the country - who will take lettuce right from our hand!
Summer is a great time to discover Battle Creek's 35 parks, lively downtown entertainment and perhaps find a favorite new summer craft beer from Arcadia or Territorial Brewing. Museums, Full Blast water park, numerous outstanding golf courses and professional sport teams offer visitors many opportunities to indulge their summertime pleasures. The nearby cities of Marshall and Albion offer charming downtowns with unique shopping and exciting events.
Ready-to-eat breakfast cereal was invented in Battle Creek around 1900. On June 10th and 11th, Battle Creek celebrates its heritage during the Cereal Festival. This event features the World's Longest Breakfast Table where families gather for a free breakfast, followed by music and entertainment all day long. Battle Creek -- where the best of summer is served up by the bowlful."
It's a great day at Binder Park Zoo. Visit Africa without leaving the country! In Wild Africa you can hand feed a giraffe, while experiencing a Family Overnight Safari on an 18-acre African Savanna featuring impala, zebra, ostrich and waterbuck just to name a few. Visit the American black bear exhibit and then stop by to see lemurs, Mexican wolves, kangaroos, wallabies and Raj, the Zoo's snow leopard. Check out the zoo's events.
