Art Alley in Lansing's historic REO Town is a non-traditional art gallery providing a venue for people to express themselves creatively. Next up in the exciting series of events at the Alley is the presentation of Diane Cekel's photography. The new exhibition, Flora and Fauna opens on August 4 (2:00-5:00pm)
Diane Describes her own work:
Flora and Fauna, is a reflection of "up close and personal." The moment of connection in a portrait is what makes it personal, the reflection of an emotion that speaks to all of us. It is the nuance of a look that gives insight into the individual, their character, their beauty, their unique detail. The unique detail is what is intriguing about the flora; the play of light and shadow draws out the subtlety of each image. The ephemeral quality of every subject is what draws me close.
Past events at the alley have included a wide array of musical performances and exhibitions (be sure to check them all out at reoartalley.com). The gallery is also available for rent with reduced rates for individual artists and nonprofit organizations.
