The Muskegon River is a world class four season fishery. During the spring steelhead run is outstanding and the larger rainbows and browns are plentiful.

The Newaygo County Convention & Visitor's Bureau is the one-stop place for finding all there is to explore in Newaygo County. Come boat, canoe, kayak, or fish on one of our 234 lakes and 356 miles of rivers. If hiking or biking is your passion, come explore an ancient bog at Camp Newaygo or go for miles on the North County Trail. If hunting and fishing is what you enjoy, there are river guides to be hired, boats to be rented, endless shores to fish from and miles of forests to give you every chance at capturing the big one; whether it's with a pole, gun, bow, or camera. In the winter time, enjoy icefishing, sledding, snowboarding, skiing, and snowmobiling in our trails and sport parks. Along with our miles of trails for ORV's, there are many affordable restaurants with quality food and and atmosphere that can only be found in Newaygo County.
