Salt of the Earth is a rustic American eatery and bakery, tucked away in quaint downtown Fennville – in the heart of the Southwest Michigan’s thriving agricultural region. This full service restaurant offers a seasonal menu of house-made entrees, shared plates, wood-fired oven pizzas, pastas, sandwiches and creative desserts – using fresh ingredients, sourced locally whenever possible. "Food can only be as good as the ingredients that you start with. It's important to honor the ingredients, and those who brought them to us,” says Executive Chef Matthew Pietsch. “We realize that it doesn't start with us, we're just part of the cycle, and we want to recognize and honor the other parts. We're not re-inventing the wheel here at Salt of the Earth, just trying to cook simple honest food, and do it really, really well.” This full service restaurant opens at 5pm daily through the summer and fall months, and offers a friendly bar stocked with an impressive selection of specialty cocktails, global and local wines and craft beers. Salt of the Earth is also rapidly becoming a popular venue for local, regional, and national touring musical artists, with live music every Tuesday throughout the summer. House baked artisan bread is available for purchase at the restaurant and several local grocery outlets. Reservations are accepted for parties of 6+.
