Pick No. 2: Fowling Warehouse

Football + bowling = fowling, naturally! When it comes to innovation, Detroiters love to let it fly. And you can do just that at the Fowling Warehouse where competitors fling footballs at bowling pins. 

The game was invented by tailgating Detroiters in 2001 and has found plenty of success around the globe. Stop by the OG spot for Fowling and put your skills (or lack thereof) to the test at this massive facility featuring a fully stocked bar with local craft beers, spirits and live bands.

Pick No. 4: Lafayette Coney Island 

For nearly a century, Lafayette Coney Island has been the go-to spot for one of Detroit’s signature foods: The Coney Dog. 

Take a natural casing hot dog, add some ground beef chili, onions and mustard to a steamed bun, and you’re ready to chow down. Add some chili fries in the mix and wash it all down with a pop – it doesn’t get more Michigan than that. No knife and fork needed.
