Americana Sundays: An Afternoon with Kyle Joe & Sammie Herschock

Kyle Joe toured as Chain of Lakes and under his legal name Kyle Rasche (including a set for Americana Sundays). In 2024, Kyle created a new seven-song mid-length album with producer and arranger Chris DuPont. The partnership gave Kyle’s newest body of work a bold southeast-Michigan indie-folk treatment, along with guest vocals from Spencer LaJoye and Kylee Phillips.

Sammie Hershock almost became a cloistered Catholic nun at the age of 18. Now she travels around Michigan singing songs about not knowing the answers. She weaves her humor and playfulness into the depth of human existence, and it is a regular occurrence for audience members to laugh and cry simultaneously.
