There are so many things to do in Michigan – not only because Michigan cities beg to be explored, but because there’s always something happening in the places you’ll visit.

In fact, state-of-the-art performance venues across Michigan host headlining acts, popular musicals, ballets and family-friendly stage shows. Detroit’s Fox Theatre and Traverse City’s City Opera House are among them. In larger cities such as these, you’re likely to find a mix of intimate venues and sprawling event centers that can accommodate large-scale expos. The number of museums in Ann Arbor nearly guarantees that you’ll find an art show or temporary exhibit when you’re in town; Flint, too.
In Grand Rapids, for example, you might catch the Grand Rapids Symphony or the Michigan International Auto Show. If you’re curious about other large-scale expos in Michigan, you’ll find a variety. You might attend a home and garden show one weekend and the Northern Michigan Outdoor Expo the next (hosted in Gaylord).
Especially in areas that embrace Michigan adventure, you’re sure to find expos dedicated to outdoor recreation, including boat shows and RV shows.
You’ll also find regular flea markets and swap meets, but the largest of these are annual art and holiday markets shoppers anticipate year after year. Kalamazoo’s annual Christmas Boutique Arts & Crafts Show is a favorite, nearing 20 years of featuring regional artisans’ wares just in time for visitors to complete their holiday shopping.
