Third Coast Swing brings their distinctive blend of vintage jazz to the Ciao!Jazz stage, drawing inspiration from the legendary Django Reinhardt and the Hot Club of Paris. Rooted in the rich sounds of 1930s–40s Gypsy jazz, the group weaves in modern interpretations and collaborations that keep the spirit of swing alive and fresh.
Known for their dynamic performances with renowned artists such as Dave Bennett, Frank Vignola, Denis Chang, and Jimmy Grant, Third Coast Swing has also graced festival stages at the Midwest Gypsy Jazz Fest and Brighton’s Smokin’ Jazz & BBQ Blues Festival. Their energetic and soulful arrangements have been shaped by collaborations with violinist Grant Flick, vocalist Ella Jury Jarvis, and pianist Andrew Henley.
Ella Jury and guitarist Kaedin Plummer have reimagined classic jazz vocals from greats like Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, and Billie Holiday, adapting them into Third Coast Swing’s signature style.
Hailing from Michigan’s west side, the group regularly performs at notable venues such as the West MI Jazz Society, Bell’s in Kalamazoo, Crooked Tree Arts Center, and the Kerrytown Concert House.
