Featuring emerging and established talent, Music in the Stacks is a fun and lively event designed for all ages. Promotional support for GRPLs musical events is provided in part by 88.1 FM WYCE.
Described by Local Spins as a road trip for the ears, Whorled blends Celtic, bluegrass, French café, and jazz influences into a globally inspired sound. The trioguitarist and didgeridoo player Thom Jayne, fiddler Keala Venema, and accordionist Mariko Venemamet by chance at an Irish music session and began crafting their unique fusion style during the COVID lockdown.
Now in their fourth year performing publicly, Whorled has earned critical acclaim in Michigans music scene, winning two Jammie Awards for their 2023 debut album Reimagined, with three tracks making WYCEs Top 100 Spins of the year.
