Edmund Fitzgerald Memorial Service

The Great Lakes Shipwreck Historical Society will hold a 50th Edmund Fitzgerald Memorial ceremony at Whitefish Point on Monday, November 10th, 2025, during the daytime for the general public. The family members only memorial ceremony that evening will remain closed to the public. Though this is an intimate and reflective time for the families, they allow us to live-stream the memorial, and that will happen again in 2025.

Photo credit: Bob Campbell. The annual Edmund Fitzgerald memorial service takes place every November 10 at Whitefish Point, Michigan. It is a solemn event commemorating the 29 crew members who lost their lives when the ship sank in Lake Superior in 1974.
