Step into the holiday season with a festive tour of the Hackley and Hume Historic Site this December. These beautifully restored Victorian homes, built by lumber barons Charles Hackley and Thomas Hume, will be decorated by local businesses and community groups. With each admission, visitors receive two voting tickets to help choose the best-decorated room. Additional tickets can be purchased for $1 each or 6 for $5. Voting closes on December 28.
Since 1972, the Hackley and Hume Historic Site has welcomed guests for holiday tours featuring Christmas trees, stockings, and antique seasonal décor. Unlike standard guided tours, this experience lets visitors explore at their own pace, making it easy to take in the holiday charm.
The Hackley House showcases Victorian architecture with intricate stenciling and a restored 13-color exterior. The Hume House, designed for a large family, features spacious living areas, a library, a geometric-tiled dining room, and a second-floor sleeping porch.
One ticket grants access to both historic homes, offering a glimpse into Muskegon’s rich history and a cherished holiday tradition.
