Just think…paddling streams, great fishing opportunities, hiking and biking paths and the great outdoors--spring is just around the corner and it’s time to pack the RV and hit the road. Many of today’s campgrounds provide everything you could possibly imagine—heated pools, Jacuzzi hot tubs, cable TV, Wi-Fi, game rooms, planned activities and more. Even with all of these amenities, camping remains one of the most affordable ways for families to vacation.

We all spend too much time indoors with poor air quality, plus we are bombarded with multiple digital distractions that wreak havoc on our health and mental well-being. In contrast, campers who spend a few days unplugged from technology … and plugged IN to the great outdoors … experience actual physical advantages related to the increased amounts of fresh air and Vitamin D. Did you know that Vitamin D is derived from sunlight exposure and increases your body’s level of serotonin? Serotonin is the “happy chemical” that brightens your mood.

Campers also tend to eat healthier (aside from the occasional campfire hot dog), participate in more outdoor calorie-burning activities like swimming, hiking and biking, and enjoying deeper sleep— all of these factors contribute to the overall healthy aspects associated with camping.
