All across Michigan, the oaks, hemlocks, pines, maples, birch and beech trees are beginning the seasonal color switch and the resulting reds, oranges and yellows are enticing people to take their RV’s for a road trip.

From backroad pop-up produce stands overflowing with the bounty of the season to discovering a campground close to a Pure Michigan cider mill, appreciating the fall colors, scents and tastes from an RV is a terrific way to enjoy our state’s fall colors at their fiery peak, as well as other treats of the season. For those lucky enough to take a longer trip, many Michigan Association of Recreation Vehicles and Campgrounds (MARVAC)—member campgrounds are open through the end of October, offering less-crowded accommodations and amazing leaf peeping opportunities. Some campgrounds are open year round as well.

If you don’t own an RV, are thinking about renting one or are looking for a new campground to visit, consider a trip to the upcoming 29th Annual Fall Detroit RV & Camping Show, October 3-7, at Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi. With nearly 400 RVs to view and more than 50 exhibitors including many MARVAC-member campgrounds, visitors to the show will be able to take advantage of end-of-year sales, shop for parts and accessories, take in a seminar with the hosts of Under the Radar Michigan and so much more!
