Allison Mahal and Ben Mulwana share a bill for an evening of independent songwriting at 20 Front Street. Mahal, a Midwest-raised indie-folk singer-songwriter who spent seven years in Nashville before settling in Milwaukee, writes vivid, personal songs shaped by time and place. Her debut album, Not Over This Yet, brought attention from NPR Music and American Songwriter; songs such as “Freaky” and “Autopilot” offer a window into her reflective storytelling. The pairing puts Mahal’s intimate lyricism alongside Mulwana’s distinct musical voice.
