Jon Spencer helped push noise and garage rock into the spotlight as the leader of Pussy Galore and the Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, whose 1994 album Orange featured the explosive “Bellbottoms.” At the Magic Bag, he brings his current trio, joining forces with Kendall Wind and Macky “Spider” Bowman—the rhythm section of the Bobby Lees. The lineup’s latest release, Sick of Being Sick!, pairs Spencer’s long-running rock’n’roll irreverence with the punch of a younger punk-rock rhythm section.
