The Tony Award-winning musical Maybe Happy Ending is coming to the Fisher Theatre in Detroit. The production runs from Tuesday, October 20 through Sunday, November 1, 2026. Directed by Tony winner Michael Arden, this acclaimed romantic sci-fi musical follows two retired androids living in Seoul who discover an unexpected connection.
Set in the future, the story centers on Oliver and Claire, two obsolete "HelperBot" robots living solitary lives on repeat. When Claire knocks on Oliver's door to borrow a charger, the awkward encounter sparks a unique friendship, an adventure, and a rare look at love through artificial eyes. The original Broadway production took home six Tony Awards, including Best Musical.
