Summer Solstice Jazz Festival

The Summer Solstice Jazz Festival (SSJF) is a celebration of jazz music featuring nationally recognized and regional jazz artists, as well as youth and community education for residents and visitors of East Lansing. The SSJF salutes jazz one of the truly American art forms, and offers this free two-day event in a lively outdoor setting. A free two-day music festival in the heart of downtown East Lansing, featuring the best in local, regional and national talent, children’s activities, a traditional New Orleans-style Second Line Parade and more. Presented by the city of East Lansing, Wharton Center and the MSU College of Music, with artistic direction by Rodney Whitaker.
