The Tony Award-nominated Broadway hit Water for Elephants - The Musical is coming to the Fisher Theatre in Detroit. The acclaimed national tour production will run for a limited one-week engagement from Tuesday, March 2 through Sunday, March 7, 2027. Based on Sara Gruen’s bestselling novel and the subsequent hit film, this dazzling spectacle combines traditional musical theatre with breathtaking, high-flying circus artistry.
Told through the memories of his older self, the story follows Jacob Jankowski, a young man who loses everything during the Great Depression and finds a new home, purpose, and love after hopping aboard a moving circus train. Rather than standard stage choreography, the production features soaring aerial acrobatics, puppetry, and a soul-stirring score blending pop and bluegrass melodies.
