Alpena Kayak Tours offers an off-shore kayak launch excursion, allowing you to relax and enjoy a boat cruise to some of the best parts of Thunder Bay. Once at the launch point, hop in a kayak and enjoy all the beauty the Thunder Bay region has to offer. See Thunder Bay Island from the water, experience seeing the Thunder Bay Island Lighthouse, floating over century old shipwrecks, and enjoying the natural views northeast Michigan and the Thunder Bay National Marine Sanctuary has to offer. Our boat follows you, making it safer and more convenient for kayakers of all ages and abilities. No experience necessary.

 

The launch boat follows kayakers along as they paddle, so you’re always within a reasonable distance of restrooms and emergency help. Plus, by using tandem kayaks, stability is greatly improved. Trips are around 4 hours long with 1.5-2 hours of kayaking time.
